Anastasia Azure shares the journey of her sculptural woven art, inspired by geometry, science and spirituality. She transforms the double-weave technique, with contemporary materials and traditional metalsmithing, to create fiber art. Anastasia insightfully demonstrates how handweaving is a vehicle for expressive art. This interactive virtual presentation shows the cross-cultural, symbolic nature of mandalas and elemental shapes.

Registration Fees are paid when you register to attend the FTWG Conference. Materials fees are paid directly to the instructor at the beginning of class. You should plan to pay the materials fee in cash.
Anastasia earned her MFA in Textiles at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2011, and BFA in Jewelry Metal Arts at the California College of the Arts in 2005. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Appalachian Center for Craft and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Residing by a coastal cove in Rhode Island, her artwork is reflective of her daily serenity and connection to Nature. She travels the globe teaching imaginative textile and jewelry workshops. Presently she is developing a jewelry collection with Mayan Hands in Guatemala.
