Instructor Bio

Karen Duncklee

I have been making rugs - hooked and braided for 14 years. I received my teaching certification with the Pearl McGown teachers workshop for rug hooking in 2012 and began teaching in my home studio in Ocala Florida. I attend the annual McGown teachers workshops for continuing my education, and also teach instructional classes at the workshop. One of my goals as a teacher is to encourage students to explore new techniques that open up endless possibilities in the fiber arts. Spinning and weaving are a natural extension of my interests in the fiber arts. In addition to teaching I have sponsored the annual Spring Fiber Fling, an event to gather fiber art enthusiasts in one location to encourage and learn from each other. I have started the Greenway Fiber Arts Society, a local group of people who hook rugs, spin, weave, knit, and any other fiber art form.
