Susan Hedge

Merging the spiritual with art has always been an intention held almost unknown even to me until recently. Therefore, after I retired as a home economist, a teacher, and later director of the local Cooperative Extension Service with the University of Florida, I trained as a spiritual director and then returned to school where I completed a second masters degree in pastoral theology from Barry University. Throughout my life the creative use of fiber has never left me whether it was sewing, stitching, knitting, spinning or weaving this is the medium that allows me to express my ideas and values.  I live in Fort Myers, Florida during the winter on a ten acre ranchette with my family, horses, dogs and chickens. I love the natural world and volunteer with the Appalachian Faith and Ecology Center as an ecological educator for communities of faith.
