Spooky Weavings on the Pin Loom; Weaving and Constructing a Really Cute (but kinda spooky) Owl with Other Pin Loom Patterns Thrown In
with Margaret Stump
This day long class is devoted to three dimensional pin loom creations. The primary project is the really cute (but kinda spooky) Owl.
The class will weave all of the squares needed to create the owl in the morning and construct the owl in the afternoon. The theme this year is “Spooky Weavings on the Pin Loom” and In addition to the owl project, the class will include pin loom patterns for a variety of other small, spooky figures including a Regular or Spooky Cat, Male and Female Day of the Dead Figures, a Grim Reaper Figure and a Spooky Little Halloween Ghost.
While there will not be enough time during this one day class to construct all of the figures, students will leave with the experience and full instructions to create their choice of spooky tableau at home.
All of the yarn and other materials needed to create this cute owl will be provided. Students are required to bring their own 4″ pin loom. Students are asked to bring their own 2″ pin loom with them if they have one. Extra 2″ pin looms will be provided in class as needed.
Margaret’s weaving classes emphasize individual creativity and choice as well as support for one another. Hopefully this class will not only support owl building skills but will spark ideas and interactions so that each person gets to take home a really cute owl as well as a treasury of creative ideas for the next year.
