2027 Class – It’s in the Bag

It’s in the Bag with Jennie Hawkey

It’s in the Bag
with Jennie Hawkey

Bring your scraps of handwoven and similar fabrics and construct an embellished bag inspired by Japanese rice bags called Komebukuro.

Using a simple pattern, you will use a sewing machine to construct a unique and useful bag. Learn embroidery techniques including Sashiko to embellish your fabric, then sew your pieced panels together to make a beautiful bag.

You will leave the class with the skills to make more bags and ideas to spark your creative side!
