Broom Making 202: Turkey Tails and Twackers

Broom making is an ancient, practical artform.

In this class, you will learn some of the history behind broom making, and learn how to make a basic turkey tail broom. Afterwards, you will more about detailed twining while making a twacker (so named after the sound it makes when you hit someone with it).

Sunday – Half-Day Morning

Material Fees

$30.00 to be paid directly to the instructor for broomcorn, twine.

Equipment and Supplies to be brought by Student

  • Scissors
  • Closed toe shoes – recommended
  • A small short table to sit next to you – optional
  • Hand lotion – optional
  • Band aids – optional

Linda is always looking for inspiration for new brooms and things to put on her brooms. Alicia Koeb is the daughter and apprentice of Linda.
