Swatching for Color Using a Pin Loom
with Alanna Wilcox
Curious how a color will behave before committing to a whole project? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use a small pin loom as a powerful color exploration tool. Swatching on a pin loom allows you to quickly and easily sample color combinations, fiber blends, and textures without spinning, dyeing, or weaving large quantities of material first.
You’ll learn basic pin loom weaving techniques, how to combine colors intentionally, and how to use your swatches as a visual planning tool for larger projects. We’ll explore how color placement, blending, and fiber choice affect the finished look, helping you gain the confidence to make color decisions with ease.
This class is perfect for spinners, dyers, and weavers who want a low-risk, hands-on method to experiment with color and build their creative intuition.
