Intermediate.  Must be comfortable with basic knitting skills.  Being comfortable with making a crochet chain is a real plus.

Class Description

The Onion Domes Hat can be made as an adult hat or a baby hat.  It has an unusual construction:  it starts in the middle and works toward both the top and the bottom.  Students will learn provisional cast on, slip stitch color pattern, single needle grafted bind-off

Instructor Biography

Knitting is my super-power.  I’ve been a knitter since I was 10 years old.  I’m mostly self-taught, and learned very early to be a critical, thinking knitter.  I love to teach and enable other knitters, and hope I can teach them to become thinking knitters.

  • Approximately 100 yards main color and 100 yards contrast color
    • Newborn shown in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino and Crystal Palace Mini Mochi
    • Baby shown in Debbie Bliss Prima and Crystal Palace Mini Mochi
    • Adult shown in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran and Crystal Palace Mochi Plus
  • Double points or two circular knitting needles in sizes appropriate for your yarn
    • As shown, the newborn and baby sizes used 3.5 mm (US #4) and 4mm (US #6)
    • As shown, the adult size used 4mm (US #6) and 5mm (US #8)
  • Two double pointed needles in the larger of the two needle sizes, for making I-cord
  • very narrow ribbon (no wider than 1/16”) or other slippery waste yarn, approx 5 yds
