It was decided at the retreat this past year to explore St. Augustine. Remember the "Get-Away" is OPEN TO ALL FIBER FANCIERS.
Yes, you read correctly, the "GET AWAY" is open to any and all that want to have some time with fellow fiber friends. We had a retreat in years past in St. Augustine and had such a good time, we want a return visit. We will be returning to the same motel as their meeting space accommodated us perfectly. You may come for the day, but you must pay the full fee for attendance, no daily considerations.
Our final destination is the Howard Johnson Inn located at 137 San Marco Ave., St. Augustine, FL 32084. There's great shopping of course, and the Old City is so much fun.
The rooms will be equipped with refrigerators and microwaves so you can bring your own meals should you wish to. The meeting room is very large and can accommodate at least 30 people. Bring your looms, wheels, sewing, beading, and any other project you want to work on. Start something new!
If you have any questions, call Sandy Carr 727-784-1905 / email@example.com. Some of us have already reserved rooms for Wednesday night so we can get an early start. The meeting room will be open to us on Thursday morning, but there's plenty of site seeing to do if you do decide to come Wednesday.
This year the reservation fee is $35 for any and all participants. Keep in mind that the meeting room fee is based on the number of motel rooms that we reserve, thus the need for a reservation/meeting room fee. As in the past, if there are any overages, we will apply it to something that the group would like to do, such as a group lunch, or just refund any remaining balances. There are no longer day tripper considerations. The amount of time you spend with the group is up to you and the fee is $35/non-refundable to any and all participants.
ALL RESERVATIONS HAVE TO BE MADE WITH THE MOTEL NO LATER THAN AUGUST 21ST, 2016. Due to the popularity of the area, they can only hold the rooms and rates till that date. The room rates are Single Rate $69.00 and Double Rate $69.00/BREAKFAST INCLUDED. These reservations are to be made directly with the motel by phone at 904-824-6181. Be sure to tell them that you are with the FIBER GET-AWAY" group. Should we not have enough people registered to cover the meeting room fee, either the fee will be increased or the event cancelled. Details regarding room cancellations, deposits, and access time to rooms must be discussed when you are making your reservations. Any reservations after September 1st will probably be at a high rate.
